    The Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Utilities (MIPU), through the Public Works Department (PWD), is pleased to announce the release of the Draft Vanuatu National Building Code Standards.

    This important document sets the framework for safer, stronger, and more resilient buildings across Vanuatu—capable of withstanding natural disasters such as cyclones, earthquakes, and flooding.

    We are now seeking public feedback and input from all stakeholders, especially those in the construction industry, engineering sector, and community groups. Your comments are vital to ensuring that the final version of the Building Code reflects practical needs and local knowledge, while aligning with international safety and construction standards.
