Meet Fredison Hosea: he was promoted in March 2020 from his role as Civil
Engineer to an Acting Division Manager for Malampa PWD. He attended University from 2011 to 2013 and at the end of the year when he returns for holidays, he did his working experience with the
Department of Public Works (PWD). “During my working experience at PWD I was involved in practicalactivities where I improved my skills because in Uni I did mostly Theory. The hands-on skills I
learned helped me get a job with the Public Works Department as a Civil Engineer in 2014. Also, the adviceprovided to me by R4D2 Advisers are relevant and I have also increased my knowledge and skills where Ican implement PWDs Work Plan, supervise staff, implement community-based contracts “.
“I thank PWD for my employment and through PWD I am able to receive technical advice from the R4D2 team communicating and working mostly with the R4D2 Advisers to discuss issues how to implement the Malampa Provincial Work Plan. Now I can advise my team to construct proper drainage and pavements according to design. We communicated through email, phone conversation and during the Quality Performance Assessment (QPA) Meetings. At the QPA, I can discuss Malampa issues and discuss plans how to address those issues.
Through R4D2 advice, “I am now a confident leader and can implement my tasks when the advisors are not around, I can provide support and advise to my team and use ProMIS to upload information about the work in Malampa now I am a happy and positive leader with my staffs.
