On 16th and 17th of February 2021, the Public Works Department (PWD) and the Roads for Development Program Phase 2 (R4D2) held the 4th Quarterly Performance Assessment (QPA Q4) and the PWD Annual Review 2020 at Aquana Resort. Participants of the meeting included the Division Managers and Divisional Site Engineers, R4D2 team, DFAT, compliance officer, and public relations officer from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Utilities (MIPU) and a representative from VIRIP.
At the official opening of the QPA 4, the Acting Director, Audre Latipu reminded participants regarding resilience. He said that as PWD celebrates its 40th years of operation, PWD’s approach must change to show that the department is proactive, able to manage time, and work effectively to implement work commitments. He strongly emphasized that the Annual Work Plan (AWP 0f 2021) must be implemented according to timeframes as the theme of the year 2021 is "Efficiency, Effectiveness and Partnership”.
The QPA QR4 was a success. During the meeting, the PWD Division Managers in each province were able to share their accomplishments and reported on the exceptions, their causes, consequences, and remedial options.
The Acting Director thanked the R4D2 team who took the lead in the planning and coordination of the activity.
