On 16th of March 2019, PWD fleet is offloaded on Vanualava, an isolated northern island of Vanuatu. The fleet comprises of Motor Grader, Tipper truck, Chain Loader and Excavator. These are all landed at Wasaga Village, west of Vanualava Island. The people of the island said it’s a historic event in the entire Torba Province as PWD managed shipping their fleet almost after a decade.
Honourable minister MIPU, Mr. Christophe Emelee during a formal address to the communities of Vanualava assured that the machines will be used for the construction/rehabilitation of road sections from Wasaga to vureas Junction (8.8km) and Bigwota to Vatarata (8.8km).
